The bloggerhood

I've come to the realization that there's simply no way for me to catch up on the news and it's really not necessary since the blogs on my daily reads have all been smoking in the last week with fresh content. I urge you to simply start at the top and keep scrolling at each of them. There are a few items though that I would particularly draw your attention to.

Loretta points us to an excellent essay at Lew Rockwell on Marc Emery's history of activism.

Talk Left has a link to a Vanity Fair article that implicates Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, in campaign donations most probably derived from illegal drug activity.

Pete Guither adds yet more names to his book of drug war victims.

Scott Henson starts with task force troubles in Texas and continues on through the gamut of what passes for justice in Texas. Just read it all.

Sickest story of the week is at Flex Your Rights, where Scott Morgan blogs about a Florida cop that dumped the funeral ashes of a man's recently deceased baby and then just brushed them onto the ground and stepped on them. The worst part is he had no valid reason to be hassling the baby's father in the first place.
