ORDER IN THE COURT

Following up on a few of the stories we've been covering here, Ed Forchion was arraigned this week on contempt charges for failing to submit his DNA sample. The court rejected his argument that he was justified in this refusal because he had already filed a federal suit challenging the law. Our earlier coverage on this issue is here.

Speaking of contempt, the nine officers who refused to return Don Nord's two ounces of medical marijuana were cited for failing to comply with the court order to do so. They are due to appear in court Feb. 2 to argue why they shouldn't be jailed or fined. For those who haven't followed this case, our earlier reports can be found here and here.

I've never listened to Rush Limbaugh but I'm certain he called the ACLU something like commie pinkos or loonie liberals at least once in his public life. In a delicious twist of irony, he is now welcoming the ACLU's intervention in support of his right to privacy over the seizure of his medical records. TalkLeft has the story.
