Tandy admission online

Well Karen Tandy's statement, admitting Emery was a political target is now on line at the DEA site. Forget my champagne addled mistake theory. Given that the press release is dated July 29th and Marc wasn't busted until August 1 or 2, they obviously composed this admission of constitutional violations while stone cold sober.

It's so astoundingly arrogant, yet incomprehensibly incompetent that I'm left hanging somewhere between gagging and hysterical laughter. This line is particularly amusing.

His marijuana trade and propagandist marijuana magazine have generated nearly $5 million a year in profits that bolstered his trafficking efforts, but those have gone up in smoke today.”

You can see why they had to send it as press release rather than try to deliver it on camera. Who could keep a straight face with those lines? Leaving aside that Marc didn't deal in marijuana - he sold seeds, not pot - he is the living proof that their propaganda about marijuana is a lie.

He smoked gargatuan joints of Canadian marijuana in public every chance he got. He smoked on TV, he paid taxes on his business, he didn't hide what he was doing - he flaunted it. And if this plant is so destructive, as the DEA claims, then why was he able to consume huge quantities of it while successfully running an alleged $5 million dollar empire and organizing a political movement?

The only reason they went after him, was that he was politically effective and he made them look like idiots. If Canada didn't want to bust him in the last ten years, then neither should we be spending US tax dollars in breaching sovereignty to pursue him for imagined crimes.

Meanwhile, Loretta Nall, who I remind you is the head of the US Marijuana Party, has posted an image of the actual hard copy of the press release. You have to wonder if that's the reason the DEA just released that statement online - almost two weeks later.
