Sad anniversary

I couldn't bring myself to talk about it yesterday, but it was the second anniversary of the day my Dad unexpectedly and abruptly left us. I've learned to live with the loss to some extent, but I don't think I'll ever get over it. Still aches every single day but for some reason that actual anniversary is still the worst day of all. RIP Dad.

Butterfly in progress

Stage two to this recent photo from Maeve's magic garden. The Chrysalis. I love that it's green to match the garden stake. I think they're usually brown.

I love New York

There were times in my life when I spent days at a time here. Those were fun times. I miss that city. Morning on the Hudson in lower Manhattan 9-22-13. [Hudsonette photo]

Low tide

The tides in the Bay of Fundy rise 30 feet in a cycle. Those kayakers would be riding at the tree line at high tide. It would be cool to see that happen in person.

Spanish moss

Adding this place to my bucket list. No idea where it is except somewhere in the Basque area of Spain but I need to find this forest. How beautiful are these trees? [photographer unknown]

Giving

I'm told this has been making the rounds on the internets but I only saw it for the first time today and it nearly brought me to tears.

Maeve's magic garden

My friend Maeve is now hand raising Monarch butterflies in her garden from the eggs on up to these big boys. I suppose she'll be giving them names soon.

The art of life

Posting has been light because I'm fully engaged in real life at the moment. Barely on the internets these days but here's one my favorite artists. Roman Street to Bordighera by Claude Monet.

Here there be dragons

I love fantasy fiction nerds. This is a huge sculpture of Hobsyllwin, the white dragon, that somebody made and placed at the entrance of a farm in Patagonia. Close to the city of Gaiman (South America). [photo via The Pagan Poppet]

By the beautiful sea

I love the sea. I don't actually swim in it very often but I can happily spend hours walking along the shore, beachcombing for the perfect shell or stone. But my very favorite thing is finding beach glass like this. Aren't many beaches left where you can find sea glass this nice anymore.
